Chad Hyde was raised in Kerrville, Texas and is a graduate of Tivy High School. Chad is married to Lynn Hyde, a graduate of Schreiner University, and they are both grateful to call Kerrville and the hill country home again after spending four years in Austin. Chad received his law degree from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas, after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Economics and a minor in Business Administration.  After law school, Chad was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps in 2005 and served four years on active duty as judge advocate aboard the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, CA. Chad’s first assignment as a judge advocate involved providing legal advice and support to service members, dependents and retirees as the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Legal Assistance Section. Chad’s practice was primarily focused in the areas of wills and estates, consumer law, landlord tenant, family law, and military law.  During this time the operation tempo in support of the ongoing campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan was at its peak. Chad was appreciative for the opportunity to assist hundreds of deploying Marines and Sailors with developing an estate plan to suit their individual needs and give peace of mind to their loved ones back home. 

After completing his tenure as the Legal Assistance OIC, Chad served as a defense attorney litigating criminal justice issues for the remainder of his tour in Twentynine Palms.  As a defense counsel, he advocated for Marines and Sailors accused of misconduct ranging from administrative matters to felony level cases. 

After completing his active duty tour, Chad returned to Austin, Texas. For over six years, he served as an in-house counsel for TMPA, the largest police association in the state of Texas. Chad continues to provide in-house counsel support for TMPA, representing police officers in administrative investigations and appeals, employment law issues, and wills and powers of attorney preparation services. Chad is currently a Lieutenant Colonel in the USMC reserves serving as an instructor in the Marine Corps Law of War Detachment.

Chad is married with twin boys. He spends most of his personal time with his family and friends, and enjoys spending time outdoors golfing, fishing, and trail running.
